"Recapture the Wonder" Ravi Zacharias
Zacharias presents four disciplines for retaining wonder. First, he says, "reading and reading well is indispensable to the imagination and the heart." Next is the essential nature of reflection, "regular times of solitude and quietness before our Lord." Thirdly, he points to delight in discussion, the kind of discussion "where you plan time with those who think well, who think deeply, and who think about things that really matter." Those people are "committed to deepening their walk with Christ and are disciplined in study and interaction." The final discipline is learning the practice and delight of prayer. He writes, "The discipline of praying is the seedbed of retaining wonder. For here God brings our wills into alignment with His, enabling us to face both the grim and the triumphant and put them in the context of the greater story."
